PISTA DE TIERRA

Wow. Epic fucking day. Thank you everyone. Big thanks to Fyxation, Cinelli, Velocity, House of Mendez, Silver Board Shop, Fixed&Free, Klinko's, Urban Velo, Leader Bikes, Heart & Soul Salon, Thin King Press, and all of my volunteers; I could not have made this happen without your support (if you volunteered and have not received your goodie bag, email me). Even bigger thanks to everyone who raced-some pretty unpleasant temps made this a grueling couple hours. Good job.

If anyone is interested, I will be selling the remaining shirts and posters to make up some of the expenses from the race - $10 for a shirt, $5 for a poster, $12 for both. The shirt and poster are both high quality prints and include a free copy of Urban Velo and a spokecard good for 5-10% off at Fixed&Free for the rest of the month. They will be available at the shop this weekend-just in time for early Christmas shopping...

Thanks to Jeff for additional photo coverage.

OH SNAPZ, PT. II!!
More shit you can win tomorrow. Don't let the forecast scare you off...

OH SNAPZ!!
Just a taste of what's in store on sunday. To review, the race consists of road, paved trails, and dirt sections. The course is approx. 20 miles long. The 2 dirt sections are located in the UNM area and in the Bosque and will require some skill to navigate at speed. Throw on your knobbies if you got 'em and make sure you have thornproof tubes and a patch kit, otherwise you're in for a long walk.

Every racer gets a goodie bag with a neato t-shirt featuring the race logo and some other treats, however, you must complete the race in order to receive the swag-that means all the checkpoints, no excuses (within reason). I'm looking for persistence. Ladies, bring out your geared bike if you like, the fixed/SS rule is for gents only and there are prizes just for you.

I also still need a couple volunteers if there is anyone unable or unwilling to race, though I would encourage everyone who wants to ride to do so. Email me at dpolks85@gmail.com if you can help, I'll make it worth your while.

BIKE POLO!!!!
I've started a little page for our polo on bikepolo.ca. It's a great site where polo in different places can network and discuss the ins and outs of the coolest game ever. The clubs are listed by country in alphabetical order so ours is right at the top easy to find. I've already posted a discussion that i really want all the regulars to read and if you aren't a regular, become one. Seriously, come play bike polo. If you're concerned about hurting your fancy bike everyone will take it easy.
Is anyone else REALLY excited for this race this weekend, by the way?
Anywho, a polo video:
