BIKE WEEKEND III!!
God damnit, summer is almost over. Come have some fun while you still can! Fixed&Furious this friday, 8pm, and on Saturday, Grand Canyon is playing at Burt's, so I'll be hosting a group ride downtown-meet at Fixed&Free at 9pm. As always, every rider gets a spokecard that gets you drink specials, this time I believe it is Marble Brew, not sure which one yet...so to recap, free show and cheap, good beer-make sure you come out. And bring a friend (or 3).

STOLEN BIKE
On saturday night Neil's bike was stolen from the Grand Canyon show at 211 Harvard between 11 and 12 pm. It is an '06 Haro Escape that has been converted to a single speed. Keep your eyes open, if you see this bike, please buddy lock it and call Neil@350-4939. We got the last one back in under 48 hours, lets do it again. Thanks.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO. Bike polo will of course be played this wednesday at the tennis courts on 8th just past coal at 7:30PM as always. I am also going to expand it to SUNDAY at 7:30PM same place. The people that come out every week can't seem to get enough so this should be pretty awesome. Also, if you haven't come out yet... DO! After the first game you'll be back every wednesday AND sunday from then on. As always any bike is fine and i have mallets.

BIKE POLO!!!!

This Wednesday and every wednesday from now on we will meet at 7:30PM for bike polo at the court. It's on 8th street just south of coal near the zoo. On one side of the road there are baseball fields and across the street there are tennis courts. We play on the tennis courts. Any type of bike is welcome and I have mallets and balls so bring a mallet if you have one but if not there are plenty.
UPDATE-STOLEN BIKE RECOVERED!!
Eric has recovered his bike, no problems.  As for the scumbags responsible, know that we are looking for you and are narrowing down the list real quick....

Eric's bike was stolen late Saturday night.  It is a custom painted Raleigh Rush Hour, green with a matching green Brooks saddle.  It has risers w/ blue grips, stock wheels, gold Sugino Messenger cranks and a gold chain.  It is highly likely it was stolen by a local hoodrat, so keep your eyes open.  If you do spot this bike, please buddy lock it and call Eric at 401-6128 ASAP.

FOURTH OF JULY!! FUCK DA POLICE!!!

photos by Michael Polka.

Saturday was tons of fun while it lasted, with a crazy obstacle course, booze and grub, good music and good people.  A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, all of our sponsors(even though we didn't get a chance to give anything away, look out for tons of goodies for the next race), all our musical acts, and everyone who has supported the shop during the past year-we couldn't have done it without you.  Let's make this next year even better!!

That being said, I would like to deliver a huge FUCK YOU to the Albuquerque Police Department, the city sound ordinances, and our delightful neighbor who couldn't handle people having fun on the fucking FOURTH OF JULY.  These worthless, self-important douchebags are stifling the cultural and economic potential of Nob Hill by making it nearly impossible for anyone to have any kind of community event that has not received the approval of the neighborhood association, the Chamber of Commerce, and any of their assorted cronies-meaning anything that isn't the Shop 'N' Stroll is shit out of luck.
Rest assured, however, that we will continue to fight the power-look for the actual premiere of Bootleg Sessions Vol. 3 in the coming weeks, as well a Macaframa premiere and more live music.  Stickin it to 'em.

Thanks to Jasmine and Elli for allowing us to move the whole hot mess to their house, where Grand Canyon fucking killed it... perfect release after having the cops piss on your evening.

BIKE POLO!!! We'll meet this wednesday 7-8-09 at the flying star downtown between 7 and 7:30PM. From there we can all ride to the court a few blocks away. I tried to set it up in the UNM area but there is conflict with the roller derby girls so i hope a lot of people will ride downtown and check it out. Bring mallets if you have them but if not i have plenty.

LOOK at how much fun these guys are having.

THIS SATURDAY-4-11 PM-DON'T MISS THIS!!!

If you haven't heard already, now you know.  The biggest bike party this year.  Bike Rodeo, tons of beer and food, Bootleg Sessions Vol. 3 ABQ premiere, and bitchin' live music.
Make sure you at least stop by, we'll be going all evening.  Schedule of events up tomorrow.

Corvallis is an amazing town for cycling. While Portland may receive more press for having more cyclists, Corvallis' cycling culture is more approachable. During summer, bicycles often outnumber automobiles around town.

Hopefully bike polo is making way in Albuquerque. According to Ghandi, "bike polo is the common man's sport. everyone has a bike."
